Long time, no post! I had surgery a couple of weeks ago to address some ongoing health problems I’ve been having, so I wasn’t able to get online for awhile. But I’m feeling much better now and hoping I’ll be able to blog on here more regularly! (And remember to post my TBT entries, at least.)
I’ve been doing some fun stuff behind the scenes, and I’m excited to tell you that I’ll be spilling the beans on some of these in the next couple of days! Check back on Thursday for an epic New Year’s Announcement!
Now that my surgery’s out of the way, I’ve been feeling excited and optimistic for things yet to comeβmaybe the timing, at the end of the year, was appropriate, because it was able to tie into all the optimism that comes with the start of a new year. I’ve never been one for making New Year’s Resolutions, but one goal I’m setting for myself in 2015 is to get more writing done.
And I think I’ve found a great way to do it: Write All Year (W.A.Y.)! It’s a new writers’ site that is hoping to capture the same community spirit and progress-tracking tools as NaNoWriMo, but spread throughout the year, rather than over the course of just one month. It has a lot of the features I love about Camp NaNo in particular, such as setting your own custom word goal; plus, it lets you add writing friends in addition to posting in the forums. I love Camp NaNo as it’s more relaxed than regular NaNo, but as someone who writes much more slowly, its one-month format was too limiting to be really useful. I have a great feeling that W.A.Y. will wind up being much more helpful and motivating, as it will let me spread my writing into much more manageable portions.
Want to be writing buddies? You can find me on W.A.Y. here!
