Coming to Kickstarter this summer

…the Fourth World: 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition + Audiobook Kickstarter Campaign!
Back in March 2023, when I was working on finishing One World, I received an email from Kyle Rocco East. I was familiar with Kyle because they’re the narrator who produced the audiobook version of Chameleon Moon by my friend RoAnna Sylver—a production which was a finalist for the WriteHive Indie Ink Awards!
Kyle told me they were interested in producing an audiobook version of Fourth World, and their vision matched mine exactly: A dual narrator production where the voices of both Nadin and Isaak could come to life and be fully realized. I had tried to find a way to do this in the past, but had had no luck as all the sites designed for indie authors to produce audiobooks are limited to one narrator. When I tried to finance a production on my own in the past, I was told by the company that I would need to use one narrator and have them try to do both Isaak and Nadin’s narration. I just couldn’t bring myself to do that, and I thought that having an audiobook version would simply be unattainable.
Until now!
Over the last two years since Kyle approached me, in between finishing One World, I spent a lot of time researching how to best fund this production. Universally, the advice I received was that Kickstarters for audiobooks simply won’t fund on their own. You need to fund something else, and use the money from that to pay for the audiobook production. When I learned that, I knew waiting until 2025 for this campaign would create the perfect opportunity, because with this year being the tenth anniversary of Fourth World‘s publication, it’s also the perfect opportunity for Anniversary Edition Hardcovers!
For this Kickstarter campaign, we’ve pulled out all the stops with an all-new cover, new interior formatting, a larger trim size, gold foiling, sprayed edges, and more. My goal is to launch the campaign this summer—watch this space for more concrete dates as I get the last details ironed out. In the meantime, I’d so greatly appreciate it if you’d consider clicking the Notify Me button on Kickstarter. The more pre-launch followers a campaign has, the greater its odds of success with the Kickstarter algorithm, so even if you don’t think you’ll wind up backing, I truly appreciate each and every follower!
